Boss Hogg's Diner |

Boss Hogg's Diner already had a Computer System before they contacted CCS Group, but they wanted to do more with it. Specifically, they wanted to make use of the Internet, and to produce their own colour menus and leaflets.
CCS Group recommended an Internet Service Provider, set up an account for Boss Hogg's with that ISP and configured their computer and modem to use the account. We also recommended a colour ink jet printer and DTP Software and selected a supplier to provide these. We then collected, delivered and installed these products.
Finally CCS Group trained the staff, over a number of short sessions to use the new systems. Some of the training was in the form of Group Sessions, but the majority took the form of one-to-one training, based on completing relevant tasks that they would normally be doing.

Business & Professional Partners |

When CCS Group first started working with Business & Professional Partners, the company was run by one man, using a single computer. Since then, BPP has started to employ a number of staff and runs a network of Windows '95 workstations connected to an NT Server.
CCS Group has been involved in all stages of the development of BPP's IT Infrastructure. We have specified and sourced all of the hardware, and installed and configured all of the software. We has also been involved in the selection of other technology such as a Digital Photocopier, Mobile Phones and other Office Equipment.
CCS Group also provides IT support to BPP. We have a regular contract which places one of our consultants in their office at set times every week. This means that any run of the mill IT problems or queries can be dealt with on the spot. Whilst there we provide support, training and advice on IT issues. At other times we provide telephone support to all BPP staff, and make additional site visits if a problem requires it. We have also developed a number of custom databases to support the admin staff at BPP. We also advise the Directors at BPP on future IT strategy issues.
When BPP decided that it was time to have a Presence on the Internet, CCS Group managed that task. We used a Web Design company called Internet Presence to produce the artwork and site structure whilst CCS Group staff produced much of the content for the pages. Since the site's launch in October 1999, we have managed updates to the site, monitored the statistics and assisted in generating links into the site. Business & Professional Partners web site can be seen at http://www.bppartners.co.uk/.

Chevington Lodge |

Chevington Lodge first contacted CCS Group when they had a problem with their accounts software. As the problem was holding their business up, we sent a consultant to their site on the same day. Whilst we did manage to find a working solution to the problem, a better solution required an upgrade from Windows 3.1 to Windows '95. Unfortunately as it stood, the machine was insufficient to run Windows '95. CCS Group performed the necessary hardware upgrades to the machine, installed Windows '95 and then retrained the staff in the differences between Windows 3.1 and Windows '95.
Since this first call we have visited Chevington Lodge on several occasions to sort out minor problems, including installing patches for Year 2000 compliance. We also provide telephone support when required.

Dipple & Conway Opticians |

Most of Dipple & Conway's IT requirements have traditionally been covered by a Unix based network, running custom opticians software and supported by the software vendor. However they also have a number of standalone PCs, for which CCS Group have provided support and upgrades when required. We have also assisted them with using the Internet and produced some simple web pages for the company. These can be seen at http://business.netcom.co.uk/dipple.conway/.
Recently, the supplier for the Unix system has gone into liquidation and CCS Group have been asked to help out. Initially we have instated a number of measures to help maintain the stability of the existing system, however in the longer term the system must be replaced.
CCS Group have helped Dipple & Conway to evaluate a number of alternative systems, and we are also preparing a proposal to write a custom system for them. Whatever option that Dipple & Conway choose to implement, we will be assisting them with the changeover, in terms of installing new hardware, overseeing the installation process, and retraining the staff in the new system.

Find - A - Part / World - Parts |

CCS Group spend a lot of time on the ongoing development of the Find-A-Part and World-Parts web sites. The World-Parts site, in particular, has been a massive undertaking. The entire site is driven by a number of very large databases which dynamically builds the pages of the web site on demand. This means that all of the information within the World-Parts web site can be updated by changing the fields of databases.
The world-wide reputation that World-Parts has gained, along with the power of the World-Parts web site engine, has attracted interest from Motor Vehicle Recycling Associations throughout the world. In particular the Automotive Recycling Association which is based in America but has members throughout the world. They were so impressed with the World-Parts concept and the technology behind it, that they commissioned World-Parts to produce the ARA International Members Directory, which is parts of the World-Parts site.
There are still plenty of ideas for further development of both sites, and CCS Group is advising on these options and will develop the required code to implement them.
CCS Group has also assisted in Find-A-Part's internal networking, setup of a Fileserver, a Faxserver and Internet access.

Norwich Camera Company called CCS Group in when they were having hardware problems with a PC. The serial port that they used for connecting digital cameras was not working and neither was their modem. Another computer company had tried to fix the problem, but due to the number of devices on the system, they had failed.
The task proved to be complex, but after some time CCS Group managed to get the serial port working. After further investigation we discovered that the modem was faulty so CCS Group sourced and installed a new modem, leaving everything working correctly.
